Are you losing internet when your Wi-Fi signal gets weak on your iphone?
I pay a small fortune for LTE on my iPhone, so I expect pictures and video to load faster than a Peregrine Falcon (Falco peregrinus) flying at speeds in excess of 200mph swooping downward to prey on a poor, unsuspecting mourning dove. I am not exactly sure what the Peregrine or the poor half eaten waterfowl has to do with this blog, but pictures loading slow on my iPhone whenever my Wi-Fi signal weakens is very annoying.
I guess what I am trying to say is…this phone will automatically connect to a known Wi-Fi signal as soon as I am in range, but will not flip to my LTE when the signal becomes too weak to load the images. I am hoping that my neighbor does not follow my blog, because I have been using their Wi-Fi signal for the past 12 months. I just wish they would purchase a better router with a stronger signal. I hear the NETGEAR AC3200 Nighthawk X6 Smart Wi-Fi Router is what my neighbor needs. Small price to pay to keep me off their front porch. I am curious if they know because they have recently updated the name of the SSID to “GETOFFOURWIFIKEN”…hmmm.
With our ever changing world of technology, internet speeds and neighbor’s free Wi-Fi, the smart people at Apple can’t fix this simple annoyance? You know as well as I do, that it is ultra frustrating when you are trying to creep through your friend’s photos on Facebook or Instagram and your Wi-Fi connection weakens. Now, the only thing you can do is go to your iPhone settings and turn off Wi-Fi and use up the expensive data that you pay for.
Well, not to worry peeps, rumors are surfacing that Apple will be releasing iOS 9 and one of the main feature changes will save us a world of frustration. Can it be true? Will iOS 9 be able to switch to cellular data when I lose my neighbors Wi-Fi signal?
Apparently, there is a new setting called Wi-Fi Assist to let you use cellular data when Wi-Fi becomes weak. My only reservation is making sure I do not got over my cellular data because we all know what that is like$$$
